On a freezing cold February day in 2021, Rachel and Josh matched on that silly dating app they call BUMBLE. After exchanging text messages for a week, Josh finally asked Rachel out on a first date, picking her up from her little blue house on North Edison Street and taking her to the Pinemoor in Arlington, VA. Within two weeks Josh was offering up his time (& his pick up truck) to move Rachel into her next house in Arlington with her roommates. After that, the rest was history!

In the 4 years of their relationship, Josh has opened Rachel’s eyes to the world of construction and DIY projects. From (kind of) learning the secret language of power tools to getting excited over installing their own flooring, Rachel’s discovered that home improvement is less about perfection and more about “good enough” and a lot of trial and error. On the other hand, Rachel has instilled in Josh a love for traveling and foreign staple foods that he would never be caught dead eating before they were together (Japanese/Korean BBQ, sushi, Thai, dim sum, and even escargot in France…to name a few). If you ask Josh now, what his favorite food is, the answer is and will always be: J/KBBQ.

Rachel and Josh have done their fair share of traveling, moved houses 3 times, got a puppy, and more recently bought their first home in Sterling, Virginia. Through a combined love for traveling, food and adventure, they became each other’s person, navigating life together.

Ask them what they love about each other and Rachel will tell you that Josh has this uncanny ability to keep her grounded, making everyday feel simultaneously comforting but exciting. Josh, on the other hand, will say that Rachel has a special way of turning ordinary moments into incredible adventures.
